1. Edible Fruits, Nuts & Citrus Peel — $94.5M
By far the largest category, driven mostly by pistachios, Iran’s signature export crop and one of the country’s top global products. Currently disrupted: Iran’s government imposed an indefinite ban on all food and agricultural exports starting March 2026, tied to the ongoing regional conflict and prioritizing domestic food supply. Industry reporting shows Iranian pistachio exports down roughly 26% year-to-date as a direct result. This category won’t move reliably until the ban lifts.
2. Products of Animal Origin — $40.3M
A significant category, though also largely food-related and therefore subject to the same export restriction as above for the time being.
3. Pharmaceutical Products — $27.1M
Not affected by the agricultural ban — pharmaceutical trade continues on its own regulatory track, separate from food exports.
